Over the years, some members of the Ucheldre Rep have appeared in plays for other drama companies. In fact, some have appeared in television productions or made it to the big screen. Here are some of the people who have performances that are not covered by Past Productions.

CELYN JONES
Celyn Jones (Barry Jones) appeared in six URC productions from 1994 to 1996. At 15 he attended the Manchester Youth Theatre before winning a scholarship to the Oxford School of Drama where he received classical training. A talented and versatile character actor, he has worked with some of the most respected directors in the UK (including Stephen Poliakoff) and appeared opposite actors like Kenneth Branagh, Michael Gambon, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Geraldine James, and David Warner. In 2014, he played Dylan Thomas in "Set Fire to the Stars" opposite Elijah Wood. He played Tony Lumpkin in "She Stoops to Conquer" at The Royal Exchange in Manchester and has appeared in new plays like Gary Owen's "Ghost City" which played in Cardiff, London and New York. He has made notable tv appearances in "Shackleton" (2002), "Grange Hill" (2004), "Torchwood" (2006), and "Casualty" (2007). He also appeared in "Lassie" (2005) starring Peter O'Toole. Recent appearances include "Submergence" (2017), Six Minutes to Midnight" (2020), and "The Almond & The Seahorse" (2022). Celyn now lives in London with his family.

BEN CRYSTAL
Ben appeared in four URC productions from 1994 to 1996. He has performed in two Shakespeare productions at The Globe Theatre, "A Comedy of Errors" and "Titus Andronicus", and his television appearances include "Starting Out" (1999), "Holby City" (2003), and "The Bill". He also narrated the first series of "The Salon" (2003). Filmwise, Ben played Julian Wald in "Uprising" (2001) which starred Jon Voight, Donald Sutherland and David Schwimmer. Ben is also a writer and has penned or collaborated on several works, including "Shakespeare on Toast" and "The Shakespeare Miscellany". His voice may also be heard on some of the Talking Books for the RNIB.

PETER PRESTON

Peter celebrated 40 years as an actor in 2023 and has appeared in nearly 70 URC productions from 1994-2023. He has worked on a dozen film and tv productions, usually as an extra but occasionally getting larger parts. These have included "Castle Ghosts of Wales" (1997), "Y Graith" (1998), "Porc Pei" (1998), "Porc Pies Bach" (1999), and "Scandal Congo House" (2000). He also worked with Loose Cannons in 2009 and took two famous ships to the bottom of the sea in "Thetis" and "The Royal Charter".

ALLAN WILLIAMS
Allan appeared in twelve URC productions from 1995 to 1998. He was a founder member of Loose Cannons in 1998 which has performed at various drama festivals in Wales, Ireland, and England, often picking up awards. Allan has also appeared on television in "Brookside", "Hollyoaks", "Porc Pei" (1998), "Y Graith" (1998), and "Cerddwyn Ymlaen". Allan sadly passed away in December 2015 after contracting Motor Neurone Disease..

ALAN EMRYS

Alan Emrys (Alan Prile) graduated from The Drama Centre in London in 2017. His film appearances include "Bannockburn - Battle of Kings" (2014) and "Johnny English III" (2018). On television, he appeared in "That Girl" (2018), a strand of the Channel 4 mini series 'On The Edge'. In 2020, he had a leading part in the new series of "Young Wallander" on Netflix. Alan has also had major roles in "The Canterville Ghost" (2021) and "The Sister Boniface Mysteries" (2023). His many parts for the stage include  Jørgen Tesman in "Hedda Gabler". He also appeared in a television commercial with Cesc Fabregas for Dr Dre headphones.

BRIAN DAVIES
Brian was a founder member of the Rep but also took time out to become a member of Loose Cannons from 1998-2003, winning Best Supporting Actor in "The Death Artist" (2000) at Skerries in Ireland. He appeared on television in "Brookside"  (1997), "Lois" (1998), "Cerddwyn Ymlaen 2" (2000), "Cwmni Drwg" (2003), and "Rownd a Rownd" (2003). On film, Brian appeared in "Kill Raymond" (2000), "The Fever" (2003), and "Boot" (2008).

Sadly, Brian  died suddenly in June 2019. He was a naturally gifted actor whose appearances on the stage were always memorable. Who will ever forget his playing in Macbeth, The Dresser, and Woman in a Dressing Gown? He was also a dedicated prize-winning film maker and his most recent film Method employed the talents of members of the Ucheldre Rep.

EIRIONA JACKSON

Eiriona (now Eri Jackson) appeared in 12 URC productions from 1994-1998. She completed her Theatre Studies BA at Royal Holloway and her early stage career included roles in "Blood Wedding" and "Ghetto" at The Manchester Library Theatre in 1998. Since then, Eri has found success both on television and radio and in 2005 formed a double act with Daniel Taylor called 'Ginger & Black'. They wrote and performed in a short film for E4, "The Musical Storytellers Ginger and Black" (2007) and appeared on BBC3 in "Comedy Shuffle" (2007). Other tv work includes "The World Stands Up" Paramount (2007) and "Comedy Cuts" for ITV2. On radio, they have been heard on "The Annie Mac Show" Radio 1, "Loose Ends" Radio 4 (2006), and and "Out to Lunch" Radio 2 (2008). They continue to do live work and have gigged at Jongleurs and The Edinburgh Festival. Solo-wise, Eri's tv appearances include "The Wrong Door" BBC3 (2008) and "No Heroics" ITV1 (2008). Her voice may also be heard doing voice over for audio trails in Welsh and English.
